Antifragile

« Back to Glossary Index

What: A term coined by author Nassim Taleb that states fragile systems are destroyed with age.

Why: The theory is very apex predictor/Darwinist in nature because antifragile systems gain from the pain that accompanies survival. The longer a thing lives the stronger that thing gets in its’ environment.

Example: Bitcoin fits the antifragile definition because it has withstood a multitude of technical, social, financial, legal, and political extinction attempts that have made it even more resilient over time to those inside/outside threats.
