7 LEARNING STYLES
The 7 Learning Styles are a group of common ways and tactics that people can use to learn more, and most people have a mix of styles. As an active learner you will recognize that you have a dominant learning style depending on where they are, the time of day/night it is, and the general mood you are in. The idea is to identify what style best suits you – think of it as game theory for learning.
By recognizing and understanding your learning style(s), you can use techniques to better grasp concepts that you are trying to either understand or memorize – which ultimately will improves the quality of your learning.
The Styles
- 1. Aural (auditory-musical): You prefer using sound and music.
- 2. Logical (mathematical): You prefer using logic, reasoning and systems.
- 3. Physical (kinesthetic): You prefer using your body, hands and sense of touch.
- 4. Social (interpersonal): You prefer to learn in groups or with other people.
- 5. Solitary (intrapersonal): You prefer to work alone and use self-study.
- 6. Verbal (linguistic): You prefer using words, both in speech and writing.
- 7. Visual (spatial):You prefer using pictures, images, and spatial understanding.
